The 2026 Leadership FMWF class is entering the final stretch of the program, and participants are taking what they’ve learned and applying it to their work, organizations and community.
Across different roles and industries, the program is shaping how individuals think, connect and lead. Here’s what that looks like in action.
Sierra Mcfaline
Housing Manager, Lakes and Prairies Community Action Partnership (CAPLP)
Sierra’s work focuses on housing stability, supporting individuals and families navigating complex challenges. Through the program, she’s strengthened how she leads within her organization and beyond.
“It has challenged me to grow personally and professionally, reflect more intentionally on my leadership journey and apply what I've learned across the many spaces I've been in.”
She’s already bringing what she’s learned into other leadership spaces, expanding how she supports her team and the broader community.
Her biggest takeaway comes back to connection.
“One of the most valuable takeaways from Leadership FMWF has been recognizing the true power of community and connection.”
Matt Prochniak
Project Manager, Moore Engineering, Inc.
Matt’s role requires coordination across teams, projects and priorities, and Leadership FMWF has strengthened how he approaches that responsibility.
“Leadership FMWF has helped me grow as a people leader to improve my communication, organization and overall leadership confidence in my everyday work.”
The program also shifted how he thinks about leadership over time.
“Leadership is not a stagnant skill or attribute that a person is taught once. Rather, it is a skill and mindset that has to continually be nurtured to hold meaning.”
That mindset has carried into the relationships he’s built, especially through his Community Change Initiative group, where shared interest turned into something more lasting.
Bethany Wall
Executive Director, Friends of the Children Fargo-Moorhead
Bethany leads an organization centered on long-term impact. For her, the program reinforced the importance of relationships in making that work possible.
“The most meaningful aspect of participating in this program has been the connections I’ve built with other attendees.”
She will graduate from the program with a network she can continue to rely on for years to come.
“For me, the greatest value has been building a trusted network of peers I can collaborate with and learn from long after the program concludes.”
Why professionals apply
The benefits of the Leadership FMWF program are abundant. For some participants, they value gaining confidence. For others, it’s perspective or connection.
What’s consistent is how quickly it translates into action in organizations, partnerships and across the community.
And for those considering it, participants will tell you time and time again:
“Don’t think twice about applying!”
Applications for the next Leadership FMWF class are open through April 30, 2026. Enhance how you lead, expand who you connect with and discover where you can make an impact with Leadership FMWF. Apply today!
