Meet Lana Goodijohn, Courtney Montgomery and Skylar Tribel, leaders growing impact and connection through Leadership FMWF.

As the 2026 Leadership FMWF program kicks off, participants are already diving into sessions that challenge them to think differently about leadership, community and personal growth. From self-reflection exercises to collaborative projects, these emerging leaders are exploring what it means to make a meaningful impact in their workplaces and the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo region.

Meet three members of this year’s class and discover what inspired them to join and what they hope to gain from the experience.

Lana Goodijohn: Strengthening Teams and Building Trust

As Senior Community Manager at Enclave Property Management, Lana Goodijohn oversees 702 apartment homes and leads a team of seven, balancing budgets, operations and resident care. She sees the Leadership FMWF program as a way to strengthen her leadership skills and bring fresh ideas to her organization. “Learning from others across industries gives me new perspectives to better support my team and make meaningful connections in the community,” she says.

Encouraged to apply by her manager and inspired by alumni, Lana values leadership as leading by example, building trust, and creating an environment where people feel supported and motivated. She’s eager to connect with her cohort on both personal and professional levels, believing that these relationships can have a lasting impact.

Fun fact: Lana has never traveled outside the U.S., but she’s planning a six-day Caribbean cruise to Cozumel, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands this year!

Courtney Montgomery: Driving Change Through Collaboration

Courtney Montgomery is the Operations Manager for Anne Carlsen Early Intervention, where she leads a team of Early Interventionists who support children from birth to age three experiencing developmental delays, providing services at no cost to families in the child’s natural environment. She sees the Leadership FMWF program as a way to enhance her leadership skills, strengthen her team and expand community partnerships.

“I wanted to grow both personally and professionally to deepen my impact in the community,” Courtney explains. She’s drawn to the Community Change Initiative projects and hopes to use what she learns to inspire her team and drive lasting positive change. Leadership, to Courtney, is about empowering others, fostering collaboration and guiding individuals toward shared goals.

Fun fact: Courtney shares her birthday with her youngest child—Valentine’s Day—making celebrations extra meaningful.

Skylar Tribel: Inspiring Growth and Community Engagement

Skylar Tribel, General Manager at Your Day By Nicole, is embracing the program as an opportunity for self-reflection and growth. “This program has already taught me so much about identifying my strengths and weaknesses,” she shares. “I can take this knowledge into my work by learning my team’s strengths and creating the best environment for everyone.”

Recommended by a past participant, Skylar was motivated to step out of her comfort zone and become more engaged in the community. To her, leadership means inspiring others to be better and improving systems to make workplaces more positive and motivating. She’s particularly excited to dive into the Community Change Initiative projects and immerse herself fully in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Fun fact: Skylar has a huge passion for art, especially oil painting, and often juggles multiple projects at once.

Shaping the Future of Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo

Early in the program, Lana, Courtney and Skylar are already connecting, learning and bringing new perspectives to their roles and the community. Their experiences reflect the spirit of Leadership FMWF—building skills, strengthening networks and exploring ways to make a lasting impact in the region.

Keep an eye on the class throughout the year as they take on new challenges, collaborate on meaningful projects and continue shaping the future of Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo. Who knows, maybe you could join the next class! Consider applying for the 2027 class to join the next cohort of emerging changemakers (Applications open early 2026).
