5 Ways to Make a Difference on Chamber Impact Day

By Shannon Full, President and CEO, The Chamber

Chamber Impact Day 24

Chamber Impact Day volunteers complete a project for a local nonprofit at last year's event.

Volunteer across FMWF | Sept. 4 | Noon to 4 p.m.

Discover how you can make a difference across the Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo area on Chamber Impact Day.

There is a quiet sense of purpose after doing something that matters. You know the feeling. Not for recognition, but because someone needed help, and you showed up.

That’s what Chamber Impact Day is all about, and thanks to the support of our Premier Sponsor, Light Consulting; Impact Sponsor, Enclave; and Supporting Sponsors, Great States Construction Inc. and PRO Resources; it’s happening again this year. Their commitment to community building extends far beyond their projects; they’re helping make this day of service possible.

On Thursday, Sept. 4, from noon to 4 p.m., volunteers from Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and surrounding areas will roll up their sleeves and get to work for area nonprofits that keep our community strong. From painting walls to pulling weeds, every task—big or small—becomes part of something far greater.

Whether it’s your first time volunteering or your fiftieth, here are five powerful ways to make a difference on Chamber Impact Day.

1. Lend a hand where it matters most

Nonprofits work tirelessly year-round, but there are projects that fall to the bottom of list – until volunteers step in. Projects like cleaning, repairs or landscaping often get back-burnered. That’s where you come in.

Your help frees up time and resources so these organizations can focus on what they do best: serving our community.

2. Build connections while you work

This day isn’t just about projects. It’s about bringing people together.

Chamber Impact Day brings together volunteers from all areas of The Chamber:

Whether you're reconnecting with colleagues or meeting someone new, this is a chance to strengthen your network in a meaningful way.

3. Discover the power of local nonprofits

You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the non-profit organizations shaping our region, from youth services and food security to mental health and housing.

Serving on-site helps you see how these nonprofits operate, what they need and how much your time matters.

4. Try something new (and enjoy it!)

Never painted a wall? Pulled weeds? Helped sort donations? There’s a first time for everything.

Chamber Impact Day is a low-pressure way to try new things, work alongside others and maybe even surprise yourself in the process.

It’s productive, energizing and fun.

5. Be part of a community that gives back

You’re not volunteering alone. You’re joining dozens of people across the region who care about contributing to something greater.

One afternoon. A multitude of nonprofits. Countless small actions that add up to big support.

This is how change happens. When people come together and do what they can, where they are.

With Gratitude to Our Sponsors

Chamber Impact Day is powered in part by the generosity of Light Consulting, our Premier Sponsor. Their commitment to strengthening our community goes far beyond the job site—on Sept. 4, they’re helping connect people, resources and purpose in service of local nonprofits.

When local businesses lead by example, big things happen. Thank you, Light Consulting, Enclave, Great States Construction and PRO Resources, for helping make this day—and this impact—possible.
