Celebrate nonprofits creating lasting impact in our region and learn how you can support their missions through Giving Hearts Day.

Giving Hearts Day is a reminder of what makes our region strong. It’s a day when generosity meets purpose, and when individuals and businesses come together to support the organizations doing vital work behind the scenes every day. Across the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo region, nonprofit organizations play an important role in strengthening our workforce, caring for families, advancing health and wellness, and building pathways to opportunity.

Below, we are highlighting several nonprofit organizations participating in Giving Hearts Day and sharing a snapshot of the impact they make in our community, along with links to support their campaigns.

The Arc Cass County

The Arc of Cass County promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting full inclusion and participation in the community. The organization provides advocacy, education and direct support for adults with disabilities across Cass County. Gifts made on Giving Hearts Day directly support the programs and services that help individuals live with dignity, independence and opportunity.

Boys & Girls Club of the Red River Valley

The Boys & Girls Club of the Red River Valley provides a safe, caring and engaging environment where youth can learn, grow and prepare for a successful future. Giving Hearts Day supports programming at The CLUB Teen Center for students in grades 6–12. These programs create meaningful out-of-school experiences that empower teens through choice, access and passion-driven opportunities.

FirstLink

FirstLink works every day to save lives from suicide and support individuals facing mental health challenges through calls, chats and texts to the 211 and 988 lines. FirstLink plays a vital role in North Dakota’s mental health and suicide prevention crisis response system. Donations allow FirstLink to continue operations 24/7/365 and never charge individuals for these services.

Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons

Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons empowers girls to discover their strengths, build confidence and step into leadership. Serving nearly 9,500 members across North Dakota, South Dakota and parts of Minnesota and Iowa, the council reaches girls in cities, rural communities, Native American reservations and Air Force bases. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship and skill-building, girls learn to lead with courage and compassion. Investing in Girl Scouts builds a strong foundation for lifelong leadership and a stronger future for our communities.

Justice Well Program

The Justice Well Program provides equitable access to substance abuse treatment and psychiatric services, regardless of financial barriers. With a particular focus on individuals impacted by the justice system, the program addresses critical gaps in access to care. Justice Well works to ensure that recovery and mental health support are available when and where they are needed most. Giving Hearts Day contributions help sustain services that promote healing, stability and long-term outcomes.

Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity – Fargo Moorhead Area

Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity believes everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. For more than 35 years, Habitat has partnered with local families to build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership in Cass and Clay counties. Stable housing reduces stress, supports family well-being and creates opportunities for long-term success. By supporting Habitat, you help hardworking families take a meaningful step toward a more secure future.

Spread Your Sunshine

Spread Your Sunshine exists to ensure every child feels included, celebrated and valued, no matter their circumstances. The organization brings joy directly to children and families facing financial hardship, housing instability, health challenges or social isolation. Supporting Spread Your Sunshine on Giving Hearts Day allows them to continue to create meaningful moments and positive experiences that help build children confidence and lasting memories.

YouthWorks

YouthWorks helps young people safely transition toward independence and stability. The organization serves homeless, runaway, trafficked and at-risk youth by providing housing, advocacy and supportive services. Giving Hearts Day support strengthens critical programs that protect youth and help them build brighter futures.

YWCA Cass Clay

YWCA Cass Clay operates the largest emergency shelter for women and children escaping domestic violence and homelessness in North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. For more than 40 years, the organization has provided safety, healing and hope for families in crisis. In addition to emergency shelter, YWCA Cass Clay offers supportive housing programs that promote long-term stability and independence. Giving Hearts Day contributions help change lives and strengthen pathways to safety and self-sufficiency.

The strength of our region is built on the work of organizations that show up every day to serve others. Giving Hearts Day is a moment to recognize that work and invest in the people and programs that make our community a better place to live, work and grow.

We encourage you to explore the organizations featured above, learn more about their missions and consider making a Giving Hearts Day contribution that aligns with what matters most to you.
