NEW: The Chamber’s 2021 Legislative Review
Moorhead, Minn. (October 19, 2021) – The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce is proud to release its 2021 Legislative Review. The publication brings attention to the results of The Chamber’s top legislative priorities in both Minnesota and North Dakota, along with the corresponding voting record of our local legislators. The publication does not constitute an endorsement or grading of elected officials.
The Chamber’s policy and advocacy work is of critical value to its members and the greater community. Throughout the 2021 Minnesota and North Dakota legislative sessions, The Chamber advocated for numerous pieces of legislation to preserve and enhance the region’s strong business climate and economy. Below are the eight key bills included in this publication.
North Dakota:- Career Academy Funding (ND – HB 1015)
- Workforce Funding (ND – SB 2272)
- Permanent Flood Protection Funding (ND – HB 1431)
- Strategic Legacy Fund Investment (ND – HB 1425)
- COVID-19 Business Liability Protection (ND – HB 1175)
Minnesota:- Tax Conformity (MN – SSHF9/SSSF26)
- COVID-19 Recovery Funding (MN – SSHF1/SSSF9)
- Frost Footing Depth (MN – Bill Provision)
“We are striving to bring attention to results of The Chamber’s top legislative priorities in Minnesota and North Dakota, as well as to show appreciation for elected officials who have aligned on so many critical business issues,” stated VP of Public Policy Katherine Grinberg. Additionally, Chamber President and CEO Shannon Full commented, “It is important that our community know how our legislators are voting – for example, only one out of the five North Dakota priorities mentioned above had unanimous Cass County support. It is important to note that there was not unanimous support from our legislators for diversion or workforce funding.”
