Celebrating NDSCS Career Innovation Academy
Moorhead, Minn. (July 7, 2021) – The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce, alongside many other advocates, celebrates the groundbreaking of an incredible asset to our business and education community: a Career Innovation Center in Cass County.
The Chamber recognizes North Dakota State College of Science, Cass County Commission, state legislators, and many area businesses for their commitment to addressing the skilled workforce needs of our region. The Chamber has strongly advocated for these workforce academies, acknowledging their ability to help alleviate long-term workforce shortages by developing a local workforce pipeline.
Plans for the academy have been in the works since 2017, and the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education recently approved the lease agreement to move the $30 million project along. The academy will work in collaboration with four of Cass County’s local school districts, granting students the opportunity to advance their skill sets and prepare them for in-demand and future career paths.
“This incredible opportunity for our community wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of so many. Congratulations to all who made the July 7 groundbreaking a reality,” remarked Chamber President/CEO, Shannon Full. “We are proud to be an advocate for academies in both Minnesota and North Dakota and look forward to numerous partnership opportunities in the future.”
Vice President of Workforce and Talent, Mason Rademacher added, “The Chamber, as well as Fueling Our Future, has identified workforce to be the top concern for businesses in our community. Career Workforce Academies will enhance career awareness and exploration opportunities and be integral in addressing these workforce demands.”
