• Donor Relations Manager

    Summary:

    Reporting to the development director, the donor relations manager will identify, cultivate, and solicit financial support by developing and maintaining relationships with individuals and corporations.
     

    Responsibilities:

     

    Face-to-Face Donor Development  
    • Initiate informational calls to populate donor knowledge database  
    • Engage visits to establish donor relationships 
    • Document donor notes after each visit  
    • Develop pool of sustained, major and mega donors  
    • Engage major and mega donors in private and/or capital campaigns  
    • Manage direct referrals to the organization for planned and deferred gifts  
    • Maintain a caseload of 75 key donors per year who are contacted quarterly 
    • Maintain a caseload of 75 prospects for increased engagement 
    • Maintain list of 75 prospects, discerning capacity and interest to give 
     
    Donor Gratitude
    • Thank donors weekly 
     
    Closing Donor-Centric Gifts 
    • Build on face-to-face donor development to close on donor gifts 
    • Conduct closing visits to secure gifts that align with donors’ values and goals 
     
    Participate in Donor Focus Staff Meetings 
    • Give feedback on donor interactions that affect campaign goals and strategies  
    • Provide input on organization’s communication with key donors and prospects
     
    Provide Meaningful Feedback from Supporters 
    • Give feedback to executive director from active and potential donors that may inform the organization’s decisions and actions

    Education, Experience and Qualifications:
    • College degree
    • 3-4 years of experience in face-to-face fundraising or other applicable career path
    • Ability to travel within 100-mile radius on a regular basis; overnight travel up to three times per quarter
    • Willingness to work one evening per week and one Saturday per month
