    Job Summary/Basic Function

    The director for finance and administrative services for Concordia Language Villages (CLV) is not only responsible for the daily management of the financial operations for the organization, but also for the overall strategic management of a $10-12M operating budget. The director provides financial data and analysis to the CLV senior leadership to support current operations and advance strategic organizational goals, as well as identifying fiscal savings and inefficiencies. The director is responsible for establishing and maintaining internal financial controls and ensuring that all fiscal practices are in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The director participates in the annual audit conducted by Concordia College.

    In addition, the director is responsible for providing leadership, oversight and management of the CLV finance team and registration/transportation team. This position reports to the executive director for Concordia Language Villages and has an indirect reporting line to the controller of Concordia College.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education/Experience:
    ? B.A. degree in accounting or closely related field, ten years to fifteen years of financial management/administrative experience, or equivalent education/experience.

    Skills and Abilities:
    ? Fluency in English;
    ? Ability to advance strategic financial forecasts, with related tools and metrics, for a multidivisional educational enterprise;
    ? Self-directed organizational leadership that includes sound technical and analytical skills and good judgment;
    ? Decisive and problem-solving nature;
    ? Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring others to whom the world of finance, accounting, and budgeting is like a second language;
    ? Strong interpersonal and multicultural communication and negotiation skills;
    ? Advocacy for mission of Concordia Language Villages: inspiring courageous global citizens.

    Preferred Qualifications

    ? CPA.
    ? Proficiency (or exposure) in at least one other world language.
    ? Experience in a non profit setting.
