    The Opportunity & What You'll Do

    Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Internship in our Transmission & Distribution department starting Summer 2021. The focus of the internship will be for an individual of high integrity to grow in personal excellence through learning technical and communications skills while supporting client success through work on project deliverables. The Engineering Intern works under close supervision, and receives specific and detailed instructions required to complete tasks and achieve results expected. The Engineering Intern will work closely with engineers to complete assignments and meet project deadlines. Assignments will focus on structural components and design of 69kV-345kV transmission lines including wood and steel poles, foundation design, and total transmission structural system design. Assignments may also include design of 12kV-44kV utility distribution and underground wind and solar collection systems, and work in AutoCAD. Opportunities for site visits and trainings may be provided. An internship with Ulteig provides valuable engineering design experience, practical application of coursework, and valuable workforce experience with a top consulting engineering firm.

    What We Expect from You

    • Minimum of 2 years completed towards earning a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering preferred.
    • Specific coursework such as structural analysis (concrete and steel) is preferred.
    • Must be able to work in one of our office locations. Option to work in the fall is based on Ulteig's needs.
    • AutoCAD experience is preferred.
    • Experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), and any additional software knowledge depending on specialization is preferred.
    • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.
