• Internship & Experiential Learning Specialist

    Responsibilities
    ·         Outreach, Execution and Growth 85%
    o   Oversee Internship program (both for credit and not for credit) by providing comprehensive services and support in collaboration with key campus and community partners
    o   In collaboration with Director and Assistant Director, nurture and grow the program’s employer base, internships from alumni, and other appropriate internships through outreach
    o   Proactively collaborate with faculty and academic departments to identify, develop and promote opportunities and relationships with employers who support the academic mission of Concordia College via internship and experiential learning opportunities
    o   Advise students on clarifying career goals and employable skills, and how they link to internship opportunities
    o   Develop and lead presentations, workshops, courses, internship programs, and/or other career related topics
    o   Maintain accurate data and analyze key metrics in order to make programmatic recommendations
    o   In conjunction with the Office of the Registrar, maintain electronic form of registration to facilitate accurate and complete academic internship registration including learning agreements for academic credit
    o   Innovate and implement the maintenance of experiential learning in areas such as mentoring, Pre-Medicine, and Pre-Dental intern/externship
    o   Actively contribute to the Integrative Learning Committee while collaborating with its members
    o   Manage/Teach Internships for PEAK including maintenance, promotion, program recommendations, registration, communication, course content, asynchronous teaching and timely grade submissions
    o   Partner with the Director in executing the vision of the Learn, Work, Lead initiative as part of Concordia Leads 2030

    ·        Communication 15%
    o   Maintain digital resources for students, faculty, and employers; identify and make recommendations to maintain effective website content to ensure just in time resources for students
    o   Creatively seek ways to implement the marketing of the internship program for students, employers, and alumni

    Required Qualifications
    ·         Master’s degree
    Skills and Abilities
    ·         Ability to build and maintain relationships and work effectively with a broad range of internal and external constituents including students, faculty, staff, employers, and alumni
    ·         Ability to creatively promote the intern program to students (prospective and existing), faculty, alumni, and employers
    ·         Ability to concisely articulate thoughts by communicating both in writing and orally to a variety of audiences
    ·         Demonstrated ability to initiate and execute
    ·         Demonstrated competency to assess, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail
    ·         Ability to learn and utilize database management, and career services-related software

    Preferred Qualifications
    ·         2+ years’ experience
    ·         Wide ranging knowledge and understanding of Career Development trends
