Thomas Friedman's book\, "Thank you for Being Late" describes these times of tectonic shift as the supernova of times and states that\, ironically the problem is pace and the answer is pause. The way of leading in the 21st century must address the human need for connectedness and greater meaning. Doing so has the potential to empower our individual and collective future.\n\n \n\nWe are a society than seems incessantly preoccupied with the outer life. The inner and outer lives appear to be at odds. Similarly\, it seems our inner life journey and workplace endeavors are also separate. This session follows the inner journey of 20 successful Midwest leaders and their way of leading that integrates both life and livelihood. This group recognized leadership as an ongoing journey\, from the inside out\, that comes from a deeper reality that ultimately heightens one's awareness and ability to lead well. The evidence in this study shows that the integration of life and livelihood positively contribute to one's measure of success.\n\n \n\nThis session will explore the attributes of Midwest leaders and has the potential to inform your leadership practice from the inside out.\n\n\n\nYou will learn to build the case for:\n\n Viewing life and livelihood as integrated elements\n Human resource development and policy implications that build connectedness to organizational mission\, vision and values\n Developing your inner life as a way to nurture the attributes of integrity\, respect\, compassion and being non-judgmental\n Considering organizational initiatives that see things whole and seek ways to respect the unique needs among employees\n\n\nThis month's speaker\n\n\n\nLonnie Pederson\n\nExecutive Director\n\nJeremiah Program\n\n@JeremiahFargo | Facebook\n \n\n \nCharity of the month:\n\nBoys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley\n \n\nPlease consider bringing boxes of Kleenex to donate to them.\n\n\n\nAbout the presenter\n\nDr. Lonnie Pederson is Executive Director of the Jeremiah Program Fargo-Moorhead Marcine and Louise Campus. Headquartered in Minneapolis\, Jeremiah Program is expanding throughout the country to meet the growing demand for its model. Formerly\, Dr. Pederson served as the Director of the Master of Arts in Leadership (MAL) Program at the University of Jamestown\, Fargo Campus.
