Unseen, an anti-trafficking organization headquartered in Fargo, ND, is holding its annual Fall Fire event at 6:30pm, October 10, at the Avalon Events Center in Fargo. Attendees will learn about some of the issues involved with trafficking and can celebrate the great work being done globally by Unseen's partner organizations.
Modern slavery affects more than 40 million people and is one of the top three largest criminal industries in the world, according to most sources. A major barrier to anti-trafficking groups being able to serve more people or prosecute more exploiters is funding . Unseen is working to remove this barrier by providing funding coaching, a strategic roadmap, and integrated marketing materials to other anti-trafficking organizations--at no cost to them. "When organizations discover how to do better fundraising, it accelerates them to do more of the great work they're already doing--and faster ," says Mark Matthes, Unseen COO.
“We’re beyond thankful to join forces with so many amazing local people. Avalon, LiveWire, Gathered. Boutique Rentals & Events, Chris Schuster and the Sugar Beats, generous sponsors like Goldmark, Narrative, and so many others. It’s what brings magic to this event,” says Than Baardson, Unseen CEO/Cofounder. “Unseen is a pioneer in what it does.” Baardons continues, “for 9 years we’ve delivered much needed services to partner organizations and Fall Fire is our chance to bring hundreds of new and old Unseen supporters together under one roof to celebrate the lives being impacted here and around the globe.”
Fall Fire is open to anyone interested in the topic of modern slavery, and no fee is required to attend. An RSVP, however, is required and can be accessed at weareunseen.org.
