This Eggs & Issues event will bring together two leaders to discuss one of our state’s most pressing issues – the ability to develop, recruit and retain a qualified workforce. With an estimated 30,000 job openings and one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation, North Dakota’s ability to address this challenge will determine the future prosperity and success the business community in North Dakota, with significant effect on the health of our communities, and our economy as a whole. Kommer will share the report of recommendations developed by the Workforce Development Council – a diverse group of business and civic leaders from across the state, the process by which it was developed, and how these recommendations connect with the governor’s budget, including legislative progress-to-date. Grindberg, also a Workforce Development Council member, will share legislative perspectives as well as workforce priorities for the region. |
