Business of the Year: BNG Team

From the beginning, BNG Team has worked in credit card processing, striving to bring integrity to the industry by providing payment solutions to local businesses. That beginning was in 2007, when three friends at NDSU fell in love with the idea of being entrepreneurs and pursued this very business idea.

The founders, Brady, Ryan and Tyler, decided to start their own payment processing business after learning that other companies operated with unfair practices like overcharging. Their start began in a basement and eventually grew into a flourishing, multi-faceted company.

Today, BNG Team services over 8,000 customers nationally and continues to rank on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in North Dakota. Their staff has nearly tripled, from 36 employees in 2017 to 150 currently. They have expanded into new industries too, including marketing and web design, promotional materials, point-of-sale systems, personal and business insurance, managed services, as well as software-as-a-service. But their mission remains focused on providing services that enable businesses to be the heroes in their markets.

Their dedication to innovation makes them a stand out, landing the business on numerous award lists over their 13 years, including several from industry associations, and was the only North Dakota business to land on the Inc. 5000 list of Best Places to Work in 2019.

BNG Team believes in five principles that guide every decision they make. The values of integrity, excellence, ambition, creativity, happy and grateful, are used when evaluating leadership and employee performance, even potential partnerships.

The company has become known for its culture, offering a fun workspace, and investing in their employees.

In-house programs include Manager Leadership Training every month, Personal Development Plans, mentorship, and their BNGrow program. They also have hired a Dream Manager to help coach employees on how to dream big and envision their future.

Putting the needs of their team first has worked. Employee satisfaction ranks in the top 10th percentile across many dimensions, as measured by an independent third party.

Leadership also believes in giving back to their community. CEO, Brady Nash, invests in the work of several local and international non-profits. For the last three years, BNG has won United Way’s Most Creative Campaign award for fundraising. Their own philanthropic program, BNGive, is made up of volunteers who donate their time to local charities. For Giving Hearts Day, the whole company worked with Unseen to “Keep the Light On” for victims of human trafficking and they created a scholarship to assist those pursuing professional success.

This creative and generous organization is always looking for new ways to provide value to those they serve.
